AAF - Wichita Falls

The AAF - Wichita Falls is a division of the 10th District of the American Advertising Federation. Our Membership is diverse ans collectively represents every elemen of the advertising industry. We welcome as members anyone involved with advertising: agencies, print and broadcast media, production houses, creative, sales, talent, marketers and advertisiers. It is the coalesence of skills and perspectives that make AAF - Wichita Falls and the American Advertising Federation a complete organization.

The American Advertising Federation was established when two regional advertising organizations joined forces: the Advertising Association of the West (AAW) and the Advertising Federation of America (AFA). The AFA's and AAW's roots date back to the early 1900's when advertising professionals identified the need to join together for the protection and promotion of thier trade. AAW and AFA worked to raise the standards of advertising through education and self regulaion. In 1911 the AFA organized a national vigilance commitee and launched the "Truth in Advertising" movement, the forerunner to the Better BUsiness Bureau. The advent of commercial air travel and advances in telecommunications enabled the AAW and AFA to better coordinate their efforts when dealing with the federal government to coalese, forming the American Advertising Federation in 1967.

Today, the American Advertising Federation is headquartered in Washington D.C. with a Western Region Office in San Fancisco, CA. AAF represents over 50,000 advertising men and women in all industry segments working together to achieve the American Advertising Federation.
